The Bird and the Bee – “Polite Dance Song”

I remember seeing The Bird and the Bee at the Silverlake Lounge about 3 or 4 years ago when they were still a blip in the mess that is the Los Angeles music scene. Since then they’ve released three studio albums, one EP and two LP’s, and have managed to ride the fine line of being an object of affection for indie-hipsters everywhere and the more creative side of mainstream radio. It helps that singer, Inara George, is about as cute as can be and also happens to be the daughter of Lowell George, the late singer, guitarist and songwriter for Little Feat.

When I saw them live they were much rawer and under-produced (not surprisingly) but seem to have taken on a more Mosquitos meets Norah Jones approach to their music. Whatever. As long as they keep putting out music videos like this…
